25 Days until 25,000 runners toe the line at the Irish Life Dublin Marathon

Wednesday 5th of October marks, 25 days until 25,000 runners toe the line at the Irish Life Dublin Marathon on Sunday, the 30th of October, to cover the 26.2 miles around the streets of Dublin City after a two-year absence.

A survey of runners taking on the Irish Life Dublin Marathon on October 30th, showed the primary motivation for taking part for 36% of runners is to improve their personal best time, with almost one third running to improve their overall health and wellness.

Almost a quarter want to conquer the challenge of finishing the marathon. Every runner will be supported along the way by thousands of spectators who line the streets of Dublin to cheer them on.

Every runner who crosses the line will receive the 2022 Irish Life Dublin Marathon medal. The medal commemorates 100 years since the formation of the Irish state. Depicting Dublin Castle, where power was formally handed to the new Irish government following Ireland's independence. Dublin Castle is now a key tourist attraction, as well as a functioning government building. The Celtic design is an important reflection of pride in the event as Ireland's largest marathon which attracts runners from all over Ireland and overseas.
