McConnell Shield Cancelled

We regret to inform everyone that we have no option but to cancel this years McConnell Shield, due to circumstances beyond our control. This is due to the groundworks currently ongoing in Six Mile Water Park for the new Greenway through the length of the Park.

We as a club had been reliably informed back in September by the contractor, that all works would have been completed on time to allow for this years race to go ahead on the 5th November. On inspection of the park this morning and consultation with the contractor, as you can see by the photographs there is no way that the course would be fit to be used for some time yet.

We apologise for any inconvenience to all those who have entered the race to date and will be in contact with you individually, where you will be informed of the race cancellation and offered either a full refund or a deferred entry to next years race. We ask that you be patient with us at this time as we have just made the decision.
